she probably isn't paying attention to the bias. I did that once and couldn't figure out why my squares weren't the right size. I put a paper in it and cut and the size was right. If she does that and the size isn't right she can contact the accuquilt com and they will replace it no questions asked. they have replaced my rag cutter 3 times; I always get it in less than a week. They are great.
