Hi....whatever you do, don't oil your machine on your own. Take it in for servicing (if you can bear to part with it!) every year if you do a lot of sewing and every 1 1/2 years otherwise. Be smart. Vikings do not need oiling by other than a veteran representative in repairs. Take care and once again, I hope you are enjoying your wonderful machine!:)/ Lissa
