I guess you all know that Fibro is actually a nerve issue!
I had to learn about it really quickly when they military discovered that my late ex husband had Fibro.(he passed last year due to complications of pnuemonia, the symptoms he had he thought were Fibro related) During the first Gulf war he and many others were subjected to a nerve gas in their training before going to the war. Since then many of those men/women and the medical staff that treated them have passed away after being diagnosed with fibro, MS and Lupus!(my best friend was a Navy Corpmen who ended up firbro and MS, she past last year as well. The navy was studying her and found that the saliva and blood from the men/women she treated while in the Gulf wars were what caused her illnesses. Both she and my late ex served together for 6 years! I lost them both last year within one month of each. He had just turned 51 and she was 52)
There is an ongoing study to determine just how severe and widespread these illness go in connection to the gasses.
It is known that it was so absorbed into their blood streams, that the men carried it in their sperm and many birth defects are also linked to it!
I was told when I was diagnosed that it was like your nerves start short circuiting, everything you do, touch, etc makes them SHOCK you inside and that causes you the pains. Sadly most of the drugs they try to give you for it only make things worse in the long run.
Since I have learned from several neurologist how to LIVE with my fibro, I no longer desire to take any of those meds.
A good nights sleep, mild but consistent exercise, and lots of water help me the most!
When pain is real bad, off to the pool I go...that really helps..also helps make me sleepy!
