Yup--the concrete wins----I never went ten FEET without a helmet......and leather and denim jeans. Just one tipover taught me that lesson. Gravel is pretty painful if you dump the bike--so is concrete!
I ride motorcycle also, wear long sleeves and jeans as gravel..well lets just say, you have to pick it out piece by piece...I live in Minnesota and a helmet is not required, we live out in the country and when I ride locally I do not wear a helmet...there's just something about wind blowing through your hair..but when I ride in town, you betcha, concrete wins everytime! Love riding. "Born to ride, forced to work" use to be my motto...then I started quilting and can add quilting along with it! LOL
