My old Kenmore is a slant needle - as someone else mentioned, it means the needle slants towards the front, intended to give you better visibility when sewing, I was told.
The slanted shanks take special feet, but the feet are readily available - get my replacements at local Singer dealer - he'll order anything. And it does appear you have many of the attachments already with it - great bargain.
