That is a darling quilt and I can tell you that if she takes it to school and hangs it up the kids will spend hours looking at each bug, naming them, counting them, drawing them, and just get totally absorbed in it. What a great teaching tool! I know she is a little threatened by the fact that she is changing grade levels but I can tell you for sure that she will love it. Second graders are soooo much fun!
I taught school for 35 years and in the 35 years I taught all grade levels from Kdg. to 12th graders. Each time I was asked to change grade levels I was scared, but she will find that the challenge is to her benefit. It will renew her enthusiasm in teaching and she will stay in the profession for a long time. She will find it very exciting. I always felt that the administration must have had alot of confidence in me. She will benefit from becoming adaptable to the district.
As in anything, you can get in a rut if you keep doing the same thing over and over, year to year.
I would tell her to GO for it and ENJOY!
Good luck!
