As the directions say a few times... always make sure that the last piece that you sewed is towards your belly. After sewing on the last strip and cutting them apart, stack them next to the machine face down, which is how you are going to place them on the next strip, with the last strip towards you.
I only messed up once. Taking something apart is a quick lesson to not do that again.
