Only batting that I've prewashed was Hobbs 80/20 because I didn't want any shrinkage of the quilt when it was washed. I soaked whole bat in washing machine a certain number of minutes, no detergent, next put it on spin dry and then I put it on my dining room table with the ceiling fan turning over it. If you wanted to you could do follow the same steps with W&N.
