[quote=rushdoggie]a THOUSAND yards? did I read that right?

Oh yes, ya read that right! I think it is actually gonna be higher than that. I have been washing it all in groups and most of the cuts are atleast 4-7 yards each! She bought in bulk, I have no doubt. I do have quite a few cuts that are 1/2 yard to a yard each but, most of them are minimum of 4 yards. I had 3 cuts today in a load that were 8-10 yards each!!

You could tell she just went and bought fabric but never even opened it once home. All of the cuts still had the tag stapled/pinned to each cut and the receipt still in the bag as well. Wal-Mart, Hancocks, and lots of LQS's were her thing. The oldest receipt dated back to Jan. of 1980 and the tag on it was a hand-written one from Wal-Mart. I never knew they did hand-written pink tags on their fabric with the clerks initials on it!

Her daughter said when the kids were little, she sewed mostly clothes but as they got older she turned to quilting. For the last 10 years or so, she made money long-arming quilts for others. She has boxes of huge spools for sale but the thread was really old and brittle so I didn't bite there.

I also stumbled across a whole box of suede fabric that I have some ideas for but no clue what to actually do with it.

I am in total awe as I wash and sort this "mess" as to just what all is there. Hubby says to me earlier today... "I don't wanna hear ya don't have any fabric now, ya should be set for life woman!". Ahh, little does he understand this world. ;-) I think I will be mostly set for a few years but will still have to shop for "fillers" as I go along. LoL!
