I worked in a garmet factory that made better dresses in the 50's. You work on piece work (so much for each piece you sew), you can make good money if you are fast enough. You sew on the same thing like setting sleeves or darts , zippers. It gets to be something you don't even think about just sew. My mother worked in the same factory for 40 years I lasted 2 but made good money.
