Coley since you are a beginner...do something easy. Don't do it in haste. Take you time. You may want to do a variey of simple blocks.
Anohter suggestion is to find a book of basic quilt blocks. Your local quilt shop may be able to help you or if you have a JoAnn's Michael's or Hobby Lobby by you, take the time to look thru them. You only need to buy ONE book and a great book to get is
