I think that people equate a sewing project as if they wanted you to make a batch of cookies. They think it take an hour and cost $5.00. So they have no problem asking for it. My friend who was a seamstress for years, did other people's mending, and sewing. After many years, she gave it up, she said people didn't want to pay you anything. I never ever asked her to do my projects.
