My sister had a new machine and it did the same thing in her trunk. The machine quit after it fell over on it's side. It was a used machine, but it was new to her. She had to junk it and then bought a brand new one and I liked it so much that I got one just like it. I have a total of 5 machines and two are embroidery machines. At least your machine still works and that is the main thing. The plastic body on the newer machine can and do scratch easy... If you take it to class or where ever,, it might be helpful to put a blanket or some thing of such around it so it won't fall over. Have a great day, HUggies, Fay
