Definitely doable. My friend did her DearJane as QAYG.
It was just too daunting for her to face the whole thing. She hand quilted each block at her leisure, and then put it all together using QAYG.

You can adjust the method to whatever you're specific project requires. So you can do it block by block, section by section, whatever.
