I usually use my folding plastic handled seam ripper. This is great as when I have to do much frogging I am usually in the living room and I can put it in my pocket when I have to answer the phone, finish cooking, or tend to whatever distraction occurs.
I bought extra and gave them away to friends who go to sew-ins a lot.
