Teresa, there is a similar project to benefit breast cancer and I'm including the link so you can read the requirements:

Any quilter who wants to participate would need to know:

How large each square needs to be. The measurement is usually given as unfinished. (From that, 1/2 inch is subtracted for a finished square.)

What color you would prefer. In the example the background and pattern preference needs to be specified.

Sounds like Kennedy likes the handprints of hope.

If there is anything special to do (or not to do) should be added here.

What is the time frame? Must be received no later than [date].

Will you be the contact person? Then anyone who wants to contribute would get your address via a pm (personal message).

May I suggest that you talk to your quilting friends to get the plan together and that everyone is on board. Once you have a plan, I'd suggest that you post all the details and see what develops.

I think it is sweet that you are spreading your beginner quilting wings to help your community.
