I am right handed but use my left foot on the pedal of the sewing machine as I use the right leg for the knee lift. I also handquilt with both hands. I guess playing the piano early in life and touch typing helped train my hands to work together. I also drove a stick shift car for at least 20 years which also helps train both feet. I don't use my left hand for any kind of cutting or hand sewing other than quilting.
