Why not try contrasting colors - look on your color wheel for the opposite to the olive green and mustard yellow - maybe the quilt can be the accent to the room - a splash of fun!
I asked my mom one time only to pick the colors for a quilt - I got stuck with navy blue and burnt orange - the final out come was much better then I expected but was it a chore to work on! I muttered to myself though the entire project! Now when I am starting a quilt for some one I bring fabric samples for them to chose from.
