I had some old programs that didn't work with my new operating system so I bought a used Dell laptop that another quilter had been using for her embroidery software. I only paid $150 for it, all my older programs work on it and my daughter also uses it for her stuff. I'm very happy with it. Maybe you can find something similar that will fit your needs?
