I try to take that into consideration. If I see everyone else is doing brights, I will follow suit so my block fits with the rest. However, that being said, I do let the fabric speak to me if it is calling for something different I have done that in the past and just decided my block may not make it into the quilt, but it might make a great pillow cover!

When you see pics posted of blocks made for a person you haven't yet swapped with, do you factor in colors/style/pattern when selecting for the block you are making for them?
