I also spreadsheet my fabrics by color & projects so I can manage the stash. That way I can keep track of how much I have and a few other important facts. It has worked for me. Is it more work than most would want to do- sure but it helps me KNOW what is in my stash and I can get the info rather quickly. I also backed it up on a flashdrive.
