I have a list on my phone, but haven't gone so far as to make a spreadsheet. I tend to work on only one project at a tme so I know where I am in the process. I have specific collections of fabrics for upcoming projects, though.
I did see an app for my phone that would let me keep photos of my fabrics on it. It was a bit pricey (about $20), but would sure be handy when I think a particular fabric would go with some I have. I also wonder how true the colors would be on the phone. I could carry swatches in a binder for matching, but that seems silly if I'm going to the fabric store for, say, thread, and "just happen" to wander over to the quilting fabric section  I guess I could leave the binder in the car so it would be with me without my having to carry it into the store every time. Well, maybe when the basement remodel is finished and I can get back to my sewing studio. Everything is on hold here for a while.
