One of the big differences is the harp space. It looks as though one can barely get an arm in through there. I can machine quilt large quilts on my vintage featherweight, which I don't think I could do on this new one.
I do have a preference for the older machines (all of them) because they are built to last. Most older machines are designed to be serviced, and parts are available. Many newer machines are designed to be replaced, not repaired.
That said, I hope you enjoy your new machine for many years!
