We're doing some minor remodeling and afterwards will be painting all the downstairs rooms and have been thinking of light gray. It would be a nice change from the beige walls we've had for years, the gray looks so cool when viewed on those TV redecorating shows.
Get a couple of yards of gray fabric and hang it up on the wall for a few days of cloudy and bright weather to see how well it works. One thing about it, it will make a good background to hang very bright quilts on.

a decorator's tip... paint only one wall gray, the others white.
