you are sooo lucky! I got an old Singer in a cabinet but it's not in pristine condition like your new addition. The lady I got it from was throwing it out...the machine is in dire need of rewiring and was froze up, but I cleaned it up a bit and oiled it with Singer machine oil (I love Singer machines) and got parts moving, cleaned out the bobbin and area around the bobbin..really full of lint...As near as I can find out, from the Serial number G9980271, it was "born" in 1911. Could not find anything else but haven't had a lot of time to really look yet.
