If you go to Missouri Star quilt company, they have tutorial of a quick way to make the dresdan plate (astor)quilt.
Also, If you want to copy the picture, you can drag it to your desktop, then print it.
I'm not sure about this, but I was told the dresden plate pattern was used in the 1930 to use up one of a kind feed sacks. You make 20 blades (5" long)out of the fabric, cut a center 3 1/2 " circl and applique to a 14" square of muslin or old white sheets. The pattern was much older, but it was a big hit in the farm journals in 1930 or so. I'm sure some of this was because of the depression years.
