Melanie....that's pretty much what happened with Big Boy when he started his UTIs. It was horrible seeing him trying to pee.

I now use the Prescription Science Diet W/D...used to use S/D, but it wasn't really good for the little girl. Talked to the vet and we compared the 2 foods. Big Boy gets what he needs to maintain a "healthy pee" and little girl also gets fed a good diet.
They also sell it in canned/wet, but neither one of the cats like it, so for treats, I buy just the very small cans of wet food and divide it between the both of them. They are VERY finiky on what they eat in wet food, so it's a trial and error most of the time. They LOVE to change their minds. One week they want all beef and chicken, the next week, they turn their noses up at it. Then, I'll put down some tuna and they'll eat it like there's not tomorrow. Will give them more 2 days later, and they turn up their noses again! UGH! Sometimes I just want to smack them! lol
