I think you did a fabulous interpretation of the pattern! I really looked closely at the 1st pictures you posted and then the close ups. I do like your stippling pattern and might try that myself. The differences in the density of the stitching in some areas must be what is bothering you. It does not bother me in the least. Keep in mind that when you see a quilt that is absolutely PERFECT all the way across...it might have been done with a computerized panto.....neither of us will ever be that perfect...and frankly I don't want to be. What you've done with this quilt adds character and movement to the background. I say "Great job"!
