I've used my maiden name, which is 10 letters long, only twice -- the first was a quilt made for my grandmother when she was 86 or so. My first and middle names are after both parents and my grandmother - JOAN LORRAINE - JO, the first two letters of John and AN, the first two letters of Anita and my grandmother, Lorraine. I wanted my grandmother to see my entire name on the back so it became rather lengthly to add all of them. She passed away several years ago. I think my aunt, her only remaining child (now in her late 70's) has it. The second one was for my father when he got remarried. I gave it as a wedding gift. His wife was very insistant that what she brought to the relationship was to stay totally within her own family so I wanted this quilt to stay within ours. My father brought it to San Diego when they divorced last year and has recently passsed. My younger brother knows I want it back but it may never get home to me.
