I once made a Rooster quilt out of pre-printed blocks, in your terminology... a cheater quilt. It was a cute quilt and my friend loved it. But THIS is a different situation. First and foremost, the printed fabric will be made from my original hand painted designs. The colors are just like the ones I painted. Instead of thinking of it as a cheater quilt, why not think of it as a base to embellish and do wonderful quilting designs around each shoe??? It would become your own based on what you did to dress up the shoes. Then there's the choice you would personally make for the sashing and border fabrics. ALL of those things make it no longer a "cheater" quilt! I have also designed a black and white fabric that will be great as the borders or sashing. My sample of that is on it's way...
Gosh, I feel like I am trying to convince y'all to down the road purchase a panel of the nine shoes. People jump in to these discussions and a lot of time don't read it from the top. If they did they would understand that the printed panel would be in full color...not black and white to use as a pattern... I am just trying to accomodate all the requests from people who would like to make one like mine, but lack the confidence to paint each of the shoes...
