i have EQ6 and like it very much. it lacks only one feature i consider essential. you can't see the block and the quilt at the same time. you still have to switch back and forth. for the price, i think we ought to be able to see both at once AND watch the quilt change immediately as we edit the blocks (which you can do in pcquilt). i don't regret buying EQ6 but i've already written them to let them know i won't buy any upgrades if they don't add that feature. i hope other EQ owners complain, too. i'm sure they'd "fix" it if enough of us demanded it.

these are all half the price (or less) of the Electric Quilt 6 software. you can download a demo version of pcquilt and of quiltcomposer.

this is the least expensive, at $24.95, but also the most basic. you can only use squares and triangles to design your blocks.
