I've never seen or heard of such a thing. My washer looked like that when I finally decided to retire her after 22 years of faithful service. She still ran great except we had to move her to redo the walls in my laundry area and the outside came loose from the frame; it was all lopsided. It still worked but it sure was noisey; I decided that after 22 yrs; never broke down and she had went thru 2 dryers she deserved a break. I bought brand new front loaders; they are great. It is a good thing you weren't in the garage when it happened and that you had a warranty
