Yes I used the PNS for machine quilting. I have never used it for hand quilting but I figure it would work just as well. It did not gum up my machine at all. I do not copy the pattern on the PNS while it is on the quilt though. I have read about others that were drawing the pattern right on the PNS on the quilt. I did not and would not do that.
