You all are just wonderful! I felt so discouraged, but your comments cheered me up! I guess it is always good to try different patterns, colors, and techniques to stretch us and help us learn. My points didn't always match, so I was looking at it from that point of view instead of just seeing the quilt top for itself. I just hope this new mom and the grandchild enjoy it.
