I think that your sizes may be off a bit. The twister ruler that uses the 5" blocks is actually only 3 1/2 inches. I think the one for the 10" blocks is 6 1/2 inches. So if you cut 4.5" blocks, the ruler that you would need to accomodate this size would be between 2 1/2 & 3"
