It might force the others to reduce their prices, but maybe the others' prices were too high anyway? Competition is good for business. It never lets them forget that they depend on the customer to come in and purchase what they sell, and if they aren't competing in the price range, they might lose business. That's just the way it is. If they have fair prices and good customer service they should be all right, because most people will check out other stores that sell the same things that they do and if the customer service and prices are better at the new place they might stay there.
