I've seen in some quilting magazines for some of the patterns they mention the yardage is just a little bit more than you need to allow for error. Quite possible it could also be a clever way to get quilters to buy that fabric line.

Look at it this way. You didn't have to get backing fabric and you got two pillows to match. :D
