This happened to me too for a quilt for my sister. She hadn't picked out the pattern or fabric though. I made a promise to myself if I will have fun quilting. Call your brother tell him the quilt just isn't working out for you and choose something else that will please him and you. You have to like what you are doing. He will love it all the same.
