Francesca,

First off, welcome. I don't know how I missed you coming into the group.

Your quilt is lovely. You have taken something from another and turned it into your own. You are very brave to even quilt straight lines, much less to have quilted swirls and loops! I have tried several times to achieve what you have. I have a Flynn Frame (manufactured by John Flynn, a well-known quilter from Montana). I have used it for a few things, but mostly for quilt in the ditch quilts. I never am happy with loops or swirls.

I have quilted about 30 years. I am what is called a purist, I guess. I quilt by hand, because I do not think that quilting can be called quilting using a machine. Yes, I have seen lovely machine quilting. I am the proud owner of several lovely pieces of machine quilted art. However, my preference is still hand quilted with as many stitches to the inch that I can quilt.

Continue to be brave and go for whatever it is that is new and adventuresome to you. I applaud your sense of art. It is lovely.

Anita
