I would suggest just starting with squares--maybe 4inches and put about 20 together.Try with a group of 3-4 colors and see what happens--you will find a lot of ways to be creative.Try to use 100% cotton.You could use it in the center of your kitchen table when you are done--but it gives you an idea of how things work.
