I have my large cones in a drawer. I keep my smaller cones in a Plano Tackle boxes that I purchased at Sportsman Whse. They hold 32 spools. I have 5 boxes that were purchased at WM in the toy dept. They are hot wheel car cases. They hold 48, but, I can't find them anymore. They are stacked on a shelf behind my sewing machine. As far as keeping them from unraveling, I just cut a notch in the bottom of the spool and hook the thread in it.
