I thought I'd post a few pics of my current work in progress, which is a quilt from the "William Morris in Applique" book by Michele Hill. Here's a link to what the quilt from the book looks like:

I started this quilt a few months ago at a quilting retreat for our quilt guild. I worked on it some more this week while we were on vacation at the beach. It was nice sitting in the room, listening to the waves roll in on the beach as I busily cut out and fused shapes. :) I'm going to be going to India week after next on business for a few weeks, so will take stuff with me to work on it there, too.

I've got the center medallion done, as well as 6 of the 20 outer blocks. After I finish the other 14 blocks, I'll start on the borders of those poppies. The quilt in the book is 78" square, but I want mine to be bigger, so I'll be adding an outer border of those poppies as well. I'm fusing the shapes and then machine stitching (blanket stitch) around the edges of the shapes. The medallion square has already been stitched, the other 6 blocks have only been fused.

Lots of work still to do!

This block is my favorite so far. Lots of cutting!
