I have seen some floral log cabins on the board here. I thought they were really pretty. If you have a lot of odd pieces you could do some scrappy quilts where you sew strips to a piece of lightweight cotton, paper, or used dryer sheets. When you get a number of blocks sewed together, you can square them up and sew them together, with or without sashing.
