I have made a queen reversible quilt that is made in squares and then put together. Similar to Fun and done. I'm going to do a lap quilt with the method of just piecing the batting . The top and back are completed but the batting is half of what's needed. You sandwich and quilt half of it, then sew batting together, sandwich and quilt the rest. It will be practice for another larger quilt that I want to do. There are a lot of methods out there that work well. I just learned of one from a new quilting friend. It's like the Chinese Coin design. The quilt is sandwiched, SITD quilted along the seams between the coin strip and the long saying strips between.
