Until a few years ago that is the only way I made quilts. I've made several king size and maybe 8-10 Queen size. My Mom was a friend of Betty Cossey's and she wrote a book and taught me how to quilt this way. Don't know if the book is still in print but certainly made it easy and a good take along project.
