If it's similar to the 1802/1803/1914 series of machines, you should stay away from it. It will be such a beautiful free-motion quilter that you will cry. And then you will have a new machine in your collection. ;)
My 15's get used more for quilting, but only because the throat area is bigger. The Kenmores (1802/1803 & Lady Kenmore 89) are actually better quilting machines. I don't know why, but I suspect it's the orientation of the vertical bobbin - facing you instead of facing to the left.
So stay away from it... if you go to her garage sale, put a blindfold on.... :mrgreen:
