Our only has a middle seat which is okay with me because I don't go in canoes in Florida with the gators.

He'll like doing the Kayak they are much easier, because the inside doesn't have to be Pretty. Ask your honey if he knows Ross Liedy. Thats my BIL, he's big in the strip kayak world. We didn't cane the seats, purchased them already made. That was the only thing he didn't make. The strips he made from cedar boards that he planed and grooved. Would love to see your canoe!
