YEA!! I am almost done with this quilt for my Mom. Her favorite holiday is 4th of July and her birthday is in July. I have been wanting to make her a quilt for a while now and just hadn't found the perfect pattern. I have been collecting blue and red fabrics for almost two years knowing that I wanted a scrappy something with reds and blues for her. Well, I found this pattern at http://heartstringsquiltproject.com/ and I fell in love with it. The strips are sewed onto muslin. I pieced a back and I wanted some batting in it. It is HEAVY! My Mom is pretty cold-natured, so hopefully she will like it. I really wanted it long-arm quilted but my local LAQ tried her best and her machine would not work with all those seams. So I took it home and tied it. I have the binding sewed on, but still need to stitch it down. I was just so excited and wanted to share :) Thanks!

the pieced back with label. The label has a picture of me and my Mom. The picture is kind of dark but it has special meaning. It was taken at a Bon Jovi concert we went to :)
