I had 3 different kinds of batting here. I made a sample of the quilt pattern out of some scraps I had. So I used the sample and did a square in the poly batting. This gave the trellis poof but, it swallowed up the flowers. They became like cups. I tried doubling the W&N like someone had suggested. Again it was too puffy for the trellis. I had a blanket that I used in another lap quilt. The blanket even though it was washed wouldn't lay flat enough so I scrapped that idea. One layer of W&N and it worked out great. Like quite a few suggested the trellis gives it dimension all on it's own. The "POOF" took away the flowers.
