Then do the piano key border around the sashing and done! Simple, quick, and makes good use of what you have without too much detail. If you feel ambitious, set the blocks on point.

I've done a lot of charity quilts with this "pattern" and folks seem to really like them. The pattern makes good use of busy fabric.
We use that simple pattern for our prayer quilts at church, too. I really like the idea of placing them on point :) It would add a little interest. I have to remember that it's for a 13 year old boy - he's not going to care about the pattern!
